When Sprouts Farmers Market had outgrown their previous outdated corporate office space, they turned to their design team and Layton to create a modern, open and sustainable office space that captured the organic grocery store chain’s values and aesthetic.

The Sprouts Farmers Market Corporate Headquarters project includes a four-level tenant improvement of approximately 80,000 SF within a new high-end, mixed-use development in northeast Phoenix.

On the first floor is the grocery store. It includes a large professional kitchen where chefs are regularly brought in to try new products.

The remaining floors are the corporate offices and include a variety of unique spaces to encourage collaboration and engagement. The floors have themes to capture the variety of a farmer’s market—including open and rolling fields, a barn and a farm.

Sprouts has a reputation for being environmentally-friendly, so the use of repurposed materials and other sustainable construction techniques were used. One technique utilized wooden crates, previously used in the grocery store, which were cut and placed on the wall as shelves to tie in with the overall theme of the office.
