A Dreamer and a Doer, Jon Huntsman Led the Charge

Jon Huntsman Sr. demonstrated his passion for the fight against cancer and left a legacy for all of us to emulate, said Layton Construction President and CEO David S. Layton, who worked closely with Huntsman on the Huntsman Cancer Hospital.

During the early 2000’s I was fortunate enough to spend significant time with Jon Huntsman Sr. as we worked together on the design and construction of the Huntsman Cancer Hospital. Jon was a dreamer and a doer, and I experienced it first-hand. He had a passion for his fight against cancer and tremendously altered the course of the disease as a result of his efforts.

Jon also understood the value and benefit of a genuine personal relationship. He invested heavily in getting to know and understand people. I’m sure most felt like they were his best friend because that’s how he made you feel – always taking the time to chat and share.

We’ll all miss you, Jon. It’s up to us to carry on from where you left off.
